Exploring Technological Innovation Dynamics in Prefabricated Construction in China

In recent years, the global urbanization process has been advancing rapidly, and the traditional construction methods have problems, such as low efficiency, waste of resources, and negative environmental impact, which are not enough to meet the needs of high-quality development of the construction industry. Therefore, as a new building method, prefabricated construction has gradually attracted wide attention. In this study, we sort out the valid authorized invention patents of prefabricated construction in China, then qualitative and quantitative analysis of IPC classification number and the regional distribution of patent applicants and patent holders are conducted to explore the development status of prefabricated construction. The results show that rational use of the advantages of prefabricated construction, increasing policy support, and cooperation between universities and enterprises are more conducive to the wide application of prefabricated construction in China.
