Świat podzielony. Opętanie Andrzeja Żuławskiego jako thriller polityczny i psychologiczny
Andrzej Żuławski’s Possession can be read as a political and psychological thriller about a world divided by the Cold War at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s. It is a world permeated by mysterious forces of “evil”. Żuławski’s heroes are people living in a state of neurosis and fear. The film depicts an obsession with dangerous manipulation of mental and biological forces activated under the influence of ideology. In Possession, the director presents a critical diagnosis of Western culture in the 1970s - the time after the contestation and sexual revolution.
