No code XR-CAx experience creation workflows for conducting Equipment Design Reviews

This paper presents a no-code eXtended Reality (XR) workflow that allows non technical people to create XR experiences as part of equipment design review (EDR) processes. The demo showcases how the workflow can enable seamless visualization, interaction, and evaluation of complex CAD models in XR. By combining PiXYZ for CAD-to-mesh translation with Unity's XR Interaction Toolkit and Meta XR SDK, the system delivers immersive experiences that enhance spatial perception and reduce cognitive load for mechanical engineers. The demo also incorporates a stylus based approach for adding hand-drawn notes in real-time on top of imported CAD models. Attendees will witness the complete XR creation pipeline, from CAD import to a live Mixed Reality based design review, demonstrating efficiency, scalability, and potential to revolutionize XR-driven engineering workflows.
