Optimization of High-Frequency Microstrip Line Fixture and Data Processing based on MWorks
Deembedding is an important means of characterizing high-frequency microwave devices and calibration can help obtain the characteristics of device under test (DUT), thereby achieving the purpose of deembedding. For the same calibration algorithm, the more reliable the fixture performance, the better the calibration effect of DUT, and vice versa. It is worthwhile to study how to obtain high-performance thru-fixture under independent design and limited hardware conditions, as various engineering experiences continue to emerge. The design of microstrip line (ML) calibration fixture under the frequency of 30GHz is taken as the research object and an optimization method of transmission trace structure, which combines the coplanar waveguide with ground (CPWG) as the gradient segment, is proposed in this paper. Simulation results show that ML with CPWG as transition segment can reliably improve the performance of thru-fixture.
