Optimal allocation of energy storage capacity for plant microgrids accounting for flexible loads

Aiming at the problems of declining efficiency and in sufficient flexibility of supporting renewable energy sources faced by traditional power generators, a strategy for optimizing the energy storage capacity of plant microgrids that integrate flexible loads is proposed to reduce the operating cost of the plant system an d improve the level of new energy consumption. The study first discusses the exhaustive examination of the plant microgrid operation mechanism and definition of the flexible load division rules, establishing the energy interaction framework of the system. Then, a capacity optimization model of the energy storage system, including plant flexible loads, is constructed. This model takes into account the energy throughput characteristics of the flexible loads and their co-dispatch mechanism with the energy storage. The study combines the capacity optimization model with an analysis of the energy complementarity and economic compensation of the flexible loads, and determines the optimal allocation capacity of the energy storage system. Finally, simulation verification shows that the proposed scheme can improve the flexibility of renewable energy while reducing the operating cost of the plant microgrid by 2%, and extreme scenarios are set up to verify the universality of this method.
