Design and Implementation of External Interrupts in Machine Mode for RISC-V Architecture Processor

Interrupt mechanism is the key to the design of processor hardware. This paper introduces the design and implementation of external interrupt system of RISC-V processor, focuses on the discussion of platform-level interrupt controller (PLIC) and the special interrupt processing module inside the processor, analyzes the interrupt request (IRQ) processing flow, through the optimized interrupt processing module, Improves the response speed of the system to interrupt requests. At the same time, RISC-V related instructions are used for simulation verification on Vivado platform.
