Author’s response to letter of editor for “Optical coherence tomography and contrast sensitivity in early diabetic retinopathy”

The comments of Thiago Gonçalves dos Santos Martins were in line with confirming the results of our study. As mentioned in our article, the early neurodegenerative changes of the retina in diabetic subjects with no diabetic retinopathy were shown as a decrease in the thickness of the ganglion cell layer + internal plexiform layer. This finding, according to comment of Thiago Gonsalves, could be due to a disruptions in glutamate metabolism in the retina. Data availability statement The datasets generated during and/or analyzed during the current study are available from the corresponding author on reasonable request. Financial support and sponsorship Nil. Conflicts of interest The author declares that there are no conflicts of interests of this paper.
