Encryption upgrade method for vehicle terminal firmware based on improved AES algorithm

With the rapid popularization of intelligent vehicles, the security of vehicle terminal firmware in the process of remote upgrade is becoming more and more important. To this end, two improvement measures are proposed to enhance the security of the firmware upgrading process: firstly, the key expansion in the traditional AES algorithm is improved, and a random function is used to generate the first-round key and optimize the round key expansion algorithm; secondly, a new key transmission method is proposed to enhance the security of the transmission process by using the dynamic insertion of the key technology. Experiments have shown that the combination of these two methods significantly improves the security of the firmware during the upgrade process without reducing the encryption efficiency.
