Design and Optimization of HOE for Holographic Display System

This paper proposes the design and optimization of holographic optical element (HOE) for holographic display systems. A novel HOE is designed, fabricated, and optimized to replace traditional lenses, reducing system size and cost. Additionally, random phase plates (RPPs) are introduced to suppress noise and improve image quality. Experimental results demonstrate that the HOE achieves a maximum diffraction efficiency of approximately 60% under optimal angle and exposure time. The incorporation of RPPs enhances the structural similarity index (SSIM) of reconstructed images from 0.40 to 0.58, improving image clarity and uniformity significantly. These results provide a practical solution for developing compact and high-performance holographic display systems.
