Electromagnetic-Thermal Coupling Effects of Frequency Selective Surfaces
Frequency selective surfaces (FSS) are specialized materials capable of selectively filtering electromagnetic waves within specific frequency ranges. The design of frequency selective surfaces must consider not only their electromagnetic characteristics but also structural integrity and thermal performance, particularly under high-power microwave exposure. The electromagnetic thermal effects in such conditions are significant and warrant thorough investigation. This paper examines the electromagnetic thermal effects of frequency selective surfaces, with a focus on the thermal behavior of different materials. By comparing the heating characteristics of two distinct materials used in electromagnetic functional structures, we utilized multi-physics simulation software to calculate the thermal effects of each frequency selective structure. The results indicate significant differences in thermal responses among materials under identical electromagnetic conditions, providing valuable insights for optimizing the design of frequency selective surfaces.
