Optimal Designing of Modified Chain Sampling Plan Based on New Compounded Bell Touchard Exponential Distribution: An Application to Electrical Cable Insulation Data
This paper proposes a modified chain sampling plan based on Complementary exponentiated Bell Touchard exponential distribution for assuring various percentile lifetime of products. The aim is to design the optimal parameters using the operating characteristic (OC) function that satisfy the risks faced by both producers and consumers synchronously. An algorithm for determining the optimal sample size and corresponding preceding lots are effectively controlling both producer's and consumer's risks. To elucidate the performance of the proposed plan in real life industrial scenarios of determining the 25th percentile breakdown time of electrical cable insulation under high voltage stress are presented. This approach attempts to decrease the average sample number (ASN) with the desired protection to both the producer and consumer. Results demonstrate that the proposed plan outperforms with other existing plans. The impact of misspecification of shape parameter is also discussed.
