Four Port Rectangular Shaped MIMO Antenna at 2.4 GHz

In the evolving landscape of next-generation wireless communication, Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology stands as a key enable for achieving ultra-high data transmission rates. This paper introduces the design and performance evaluation of a Four-Port Rectangular Shaped MIMO Antenna, specifically tailored for wireless communication applications. The antenna system is constructed on a cost-effective FR4 substrate with a 1.5 mm thickness and is optimized to operate at the 2.4 GHz frequency band. Using CST software for design and simulation, the compact antenna array, with dimensions of 85.53mm×85.53mm×1.5mm,demonstrates superior performance metrics. It achieves an isolation of better than -27.5 dB, an Envelope Correlation Coefficient (ECC) below 0.01, a Diversity Gain (DG) close to 10 dB, and a peak gain exceeding 6.9 dBi at the target frequency, making it a highly efficient solution for modern wireless systems. The performance of this antenna is compared with that of similar types of antennas found in recently published papers.
