A Mobile Application for Improving Emergency Response Times and Patient Outcomes with Real-Time Data Sharing

When it is an emergency case, every second and the available types of equipment do matter, therefore the idea of a smart ambulance came to help paramedics in deciding which hospital can treat the patient better. Thus, a Flutter-based mobile application was designed and implemented to improve communication and resource allocation between paramedics and hospitals in emergency medical services. Therefore, it is supposed to shorten response times and enhance patient outcomes in emergency scenarios. Database from 3 hospitals in Amman, Jordan was created. The database included a list of each hospital's medical devices used at the emergency department. Throughout the testing period, the application established its usefulness in speeding up the link between paramedics and hospitals, resulting in better decision-making and prompt access to critical medical equipment. The response from paramedics and healthcare professionals was overwhelmingly favorable, demonstrating the technology's potential to enhance emergency medical services.

Abstract

When it is an emergency case, every second and the available types of equipment do matter, therefore the idea of a smart ambulance came to help paramedics in deciding which hospital can treat the patient better. Thus, a Flutter-based mobile application was designed and implemented to improve communication and resource allocation between paramedics and hospitals in emergency medical services. Therefore, it is supposed to shorten response times and enhance patient outcomes in emergency scenarios. Database from 3 hospitals in Amman, Jordan was created.
