Development and Research of a Digital Model of an Energy Router for Power Flow Control at the Point of Common Coupling of Power System and Microgrids
The “energy router” device is part of the architecture of power supply systems created in accordance with the architecture of the Internet of Energy. The role of “energy routers” in the Internet of Energy architecture is to enable the management of active and reactive power flows at the microgrid boundary. Energy routers can act as nodes of a distributed smart grid management system. To analyze the behavior of the device, a digital model of an ER of 0.4 kV consumer voltage level was developed and tested to perform power flow control between the microgrid and the distribution network. In this paper, the structure of the power flow control system is developed both when the device operates in the PQ converter mode and in the standalone voltage inverter mode.
