Integration of Geospatial Analysis for Enhancing Rubber Plantation Management in Sri Lanka
Rubber cultivation is a significant economic activity in many regions, necessitating precise identification of suitable land for optimal yield. This research paper presents a comprehensive analysis leveraging Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to assess factors such as slope, elevation, soil type, and climatic conditions in determining the suitability of land for rubber cultivation. By categorizing lands into suitable, average, or unsuitable categories, farmers are equipped with vital insights for informed decision-making. Additionally, we employ GIS techniques to map rubber growers and calculate rubber field areas, excluding regions with deserted areas and immature plantations. Our findings provide a valuable resource for stakeholders in the rubber industry, enabling efficient land management practices and sustainable agricultural development.
