Modeling and analysis of a six phase High Speed Homopolar Inductor Machine for aerospace applications
Recently research has been going on in high power density high-speed electrical machines in small aircrafts and unmanned vehicles and fighter planes as auxiliary power applications such as capacitor charging, and flywheel energy storage systems. The requirement for electrical power sources in such vehicles is small size and less weight. A Homopolar Inductor machine (HSHIM) is a machine with special construction which can be operated at very high speed up to 100000 RPM. This paper presents the implementation of modeling and analysis of a High -Speed Homopolar Inductor Machine(HSHIM) in MATLAB. All the dynamics of HSHIM have been modelled using mathematical equations.
