Evaluation of Security and Privacy Challenges of IoT Devices in the Hotels Industry

The rapid proliferation of IoT devices has revolutionized the hospitality industry, offering enhanced guest experiences and operational efficiencies. However, this adoption introduces significant cybersecurity challenges, risking guest privacy and data integrity. This study is a solemn attempt evaluates the current state of IoT device deployment and challenges in hotels, identifies common vulnerabilities, and proposes a general framework to manage these devices and encourages the hotel guest to use them. Researcher designed different questionnaires for guest, front-end and back-end staffs to address the IoT challenges efficiently. Researcher collected 109 responses from the hotel quests and analyzed them. Interviews with hotels staff have been also conducted to further improve the proposed framework that should be adapted in hotels to provide more comfort for the guests.
