MGC-Chain: A Blockchain Framework for Distributed Maritime Computation

With the rapid development of the coastal shipping industry, vessels face challenges of insufficient real-time data processing and computing power in complex marine environments, along with increasingly prominent energy consumption issues. To address these challenges, we propose an intelligent computing platform for vessels that integrates GPU and blockchain technologies. This platform consolidates idle GPU computing power to form a GPU computing pool, functioning similarly to a computing reservoir, allowing vessels to draw computing power in real time based on demand. We utilize blockchain technology to enhance system security, preventing data tampering and ensuring the safe handling of sensitive information. Additionally, by integrating edge computing technologies, we decentralize computing capabilities to coastal GPU providers, thereby reducing reliance on centralized cloud computing platforms. We believe this is the first intelligent computing platform to combine distributed GPUs, blockchain, and maritime computing power.
