Predictive Current Control of Five-Phase Asynchronous Generator in Wind Energy Systems
In recent years, model predictive current control has become more and more common as a control technique for different renewable energy systems. This work presents the use of predictive current control in a wind energy system with a fivephase asynchronous generator. The goal of the suggested control strategy is to maintain stable operation while controlling the generator's stator currents to attain maximum power point tracking, or MPPT. The predictive current control algorithm finds the best inverter switching states to obtain the required current references using a cost function. Through simulation with MATLAB/Simulink software, the predictive current control algorithm's performance is assessed. The outcomes of the simulation demonstrate that the suggested MPCC algorithm successfully tracks the MPPT and keeps the five-phase asynchronous generator operating steadily. In addition, the algorithm offers a quicker dynamic reaction than conventional control techniques while reducing steady-state error. All things considered, the study's findings show how well MPCC works in wind energy systems to regulate a five-phase asynchronous generator.
