High proportion of hydropower dominates the grid spot market clearing model
In the context of dual-carbon targets and power market reform, promoting the consumption of hydropower-based renewable energy through market-based mechanisms has become a key task in the construction of China’s electricity spot market. Including hydropower in the design of market clearing mechanism, taking into account the operational characteristics of hydropower, introducing complex constraints such as hydraulic coupling, power generation characteristics, water level control and so on into the conventional clearing model, and based on the IEEE30 node system, designing the day-ahead market example consisting of six power generating main bodies, and initially verifying the reasonableness and practicality of the proposed clearing model by analysing the results of the market transactions in different operational scenarios. By analysing the market trading results under different operation scenarios, the rationality and practicality of the proposed clearing model are initially verified.
