Estimation of Operation Areas and Environmental Parameters for High-Altitude Balloon Missions

High-Altitude Balloon (HAB) missions require accurate environmental modeling and trajectory prediction for successful operation. This paper presents a comprehensive approach to estimating operation areas and environmental parameters for HAB missions by integrating the International Standard Atmosphere (ISA) model with the Cambridge University Spaceflight (CUSF) simulator using Python. The study provides detailed analysis of atmospheric conditions, including temperature and pressure changes, encountered during HAB flights. Additionally, it offers visualizations of flight paths and potential landing areas through heat maps. This integrated approach significantly enhances mission planning capabilities, enabling more accurate predictions of extreme stratospheric conditions and operational zones for HAB missions, thereby contributing to the advancement of scientific exploration in the field of high-altitude research.
