Advancements and Trends in IOT Applications for Education: A Bibliometric Analysis
This article explores the transformative impact of technological advancements, particularly in the Internet of Things (IoT), on educational methodologies over the past decade. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic to virtual education, there is a notable scarcity of studies employing bibliometric indicators to assess scientific production in this domain. Focusing on the development of IoT devices for education, the study conducted a systematic review using the Bibliometric Analysis methodology and biblioshiny tool, analyzing scientific production from 2013 to 2022. The results indicate a growing trend, where China leads in scientific production, with collaborations between countries such as Kenya and Malaysia. The analysis underscores the pivotal role of nine technologies leaded by IoT, followed by Artificial Intelligence and Cloud, then by Big Data, Blockchain, Embedded Systems, Camera, Wi-Fi networks, and Virtual Reality, in transforming and enhancing the educational environment.
