Performance Analysis of Smart Fishpond Monitoring System Using LoRa Technology
Indonesia is a maritime country with large income potential in the fisheries sector, both seawater and freshwater fisheries. This potential is very visible in the number of seawater and freshwater fish catches. This research focuses on monitoring pond water fisheries in the form of water turbidity and location points. The reason is because there are obstacles in pond management starting from the initial preparation of the pond until the fish seeds are introduced, then there is the pond maintenance process including feeding, the process of maintaining water turbidity quality, and the production process. One important aspect in increasing fishpond harvest production is understanding the correlation between several water parameters such as temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen levels and salinity with fish health and growth. So, to obtain optimal results, it is necessary to develop a Long Range (LoRa) based fishpond management monitoring system with the main aim of increasing fishpond harvest production. Early detection of changes in water quality and other factors is useful for preventing potential problems that can affect fish health and crop yields. In this research, we obtained the results of optimizing the LoRa communication system in sending the required sensor data such as location sensor data, water turbidity sensors, RSSI values and SNR values, for the RSSI value range, namely -119 dBm to -64 dBm. And the SNR value ranges from 3.48 dB to 11.02 dB. This demonstrates that the system we developed complies with the LoRa communication standards.
