Vibration transmission characteristics of the palm of EVA gloves in a one-sixth-gravity, low-pressure environment
During extravehicular activities on the moon, the vibration generated by aerospace electric tools, transmitted through the EVA gloves to the hands, may lead to a decrease in the efficiency of astronauts’ work and even affect the smooth completion of aerospace missions. This study established a small-area palm local structural simulation model and a palm biomechanical dynamics model incorporating the structure of EVA gloves, and built a hand-transmitted vibration test platform simulating a low-pressure environment with one-sixth gravity. The results showed that the palm biomechanical dynamics model and simulation model can accurately predict the palm biomechanical dynamics response. Changes in EVA glove pressure have little effect on the palm vibration transmission rate. An increase in EVA glove pressure leads to an increase in the contact stiffness between the glove and the palm, resulting in a decrease in mechanical impedance, but does not affect the palm’s damping and effective mass.
