A metasurface-based Circularly Polarized Transmitarray Antenna Element Used in Satellite Communication Applications

In this paper, a metasurface-based circularly polarized transmitarray antenna element used in satellite Communication is proposed. This element adopts a single-layer square 4×4 metasurface and a double-layer angular 4×4 metasurface to realize linear polarization to circular polarization conversion, which can reflect y-polarized wave, transmit xpolarized wave and convert it into circular polarized wave. This element has good matching characteristics and circular polarization characteristics. At the same time, 360 ° phase compensation is realized by changing the phase delay line. This element has low insertion loss, and can realize linear phase in a wide frequency band. The structure is simple to process and the cost is low, so that it can be mass-produced.
