Optimazed Energy Managememt Strategy for Enhanced Efficiency in Steel Production Metallurgy System
Steel production is an energy-intensive process that requires substantial amounts of electricity to transform raw materials into finished steel products. This study presents an optimized energy management strategy for a steel production metallurgy park equipped with an EAF unit, LF unit, and continuous casting unit. The system integrates preheating equipment and waste recovery systems, alongside the utilization of ESS unit, to minimize daily operational costs. The numerical results demonstrate a highly coordinated approach to energy management in steel production, where electrical and heat energies are carefully managed to optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Moreover, the study confirms that the use of preheating steps, waste-to-energy recovery and energy storage can significantly improve the economics of steel production metallurgy enterprise. The analysis in this work highlights the importance of strategic energy management in improving the sustainability and economic viability of heavy industries such as steel production.
