Study of wind friction loss on the rotor surface of high-power wind turbines
To address the issues of high loss density, challenging heat dissipation, and irreversible demagnetization of permanent magnets at elevated temperatures in high-power semi-direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous wind turbines, a three-dimensional fluid field model was developed using Fluent, a fluid simulation software. This model was utilized to analyze fluid distribution within the ventilation system. Additionally, to tackle the significant and complex wind friction loss on the rotor surface of high-power semi-direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous wind turbines, a comparative analysis was conducted based on the established 3D fluid field model and existing research on the impact of rotational speed on wind friction loss. The study also examined and calculated the effects of rotor surface roughness and ventilation on wind friction loss, summarizing the corresponding relationships. The analysis results indicate that rotor speed, rotor surface roughness, and axial ventilation are the primary factors influencing wind friction loss.
