Design of a Quasi-Continuous Inverse Class-F 100-Watt-Class Broadband High-Efficiency Power Amplifier
This paper presents the design of a high-power (hundred-watt scale), broadband, and high-efficiency power amplifier (PA) operating from 0.75 to 1.25 GHz. The PA is designed following the principles of the Continuous Inverse Class-F operation and employs a fundamental low-pass output matching network. By effectively exploiting the intrinsic parasitic elements of large-area transistors, the circuit complexity is significantly reduced. Measured results demonstrate that the designed PA achieves a saturated output power (Pout) of 49.84–52.03 dBm and a power gain of 10.84–12.03 dB across the 0.75–1.25 GHz range. Furthermore, the PA achieves a high drain efficiency (DE) ranging from 63.8% to 75.1%.
