Study on Frequency and Voltage Control of a Micro-grid with Renewable Energy based on Grid-forming Energy Storage System
This paper proposes a frequency and voltage control method for a micro-grid without supports of synchronous generators, based on virtual synchronous generator (VSG) method. Taking an actual remote micro-grid in north China as an example, a VSG control strategy for energy storage system(ESS) is designed, according to characteristics of loads, wind power stations and photovoltaic($\mathrm{P V}$) stations in the $\backslash$ micro-grid. The validity of the method is verified by electromagnetic transient simulations. The results show that with this control method the frequency and voltage regulation capacity of the micro-grid are improved, and as a result, the wind farms, PV stations and loads in the area can operate stably, improving the reliability of power supply in this area. The results of this paper provide important and valuable references for solving the week reliability of power supply of a micro-grid without supports of a synchronous generator.
