Panoramic Digital Modeling of Cable Sheath Monitoring Systems and Applications in Circulating Current Analysis
Monitoring the state of cable sheaths is essential for the safe functioning of power cables. This research presents a panoramic digital monitoring system utilizing 3D models and simulations of tunnel cable digital twins to overcome deficiencies in tunnel cable sheath monitoring systems. The technology computes sheath currents and temperatures, corroborated by an actual cable tunnel scenario. The results indicate that the model’s sheath current and temperature calculations exhibit errors not exceeding 3.71% and 2.44°C, respectively. The model offers real-time surveillance, early detection of sheath current irregularities, and facilitates decision-making for cable management.
