A New Eleven Level Switched Capacitor Multilevel Inverter with Reduced Power Semi Conductor Devices and Sources
This paper proposes an eleven-level switched capacitor multilevel inverter to minimize the number of devices and voltage sources. The proposed topology uses two DC voltage Sources, a capacitor, eight power semiconductor switches, and a diode to produce the eleven level voltage at the inverter’s output terminals. The key features of the proposed inverter are the capacitor’s self-voltage balancing capability and requirement of less number of sources. The voltage magnitude across the switched capacitor depends up on the modes of the eleven-level inverter. Also, the device has less voltage stress. Also, the topology has the less switching losses and less ripple in capacitor voltage. To evaluate the system’s performance, MATLAB/Simulink simulations are carried out to study and verify the system’s behavior.
