An Inverter Control Strategy Pertaining to PSO Technique in the Grid Connected System
This paper demonstrates a three phase inverter that is coupled to a grid for photovoltaic operations which features a three phase inverter ans a DC-DC boost converter. To build up the low voltage Direct Current output of a PV configuration to a high voltage Direct Current level for inverter connected to grid, a DC DC boost converter is applied. To switch over Direct Current output of boost converter into a 3 phase Alternate Current output, a three phase grid-connected inverter is applied. This AC output is coherent with the grid voltage. Compared to traditional systems, this system has several advantages. The DC-DC boost converter enables for MPP of a PV array. DC-DC boost converter has low operating duty cycle and the inverter topology presented provides greater efficiency. PI controller is used to control the Id value so as to match with Idref and Iq to match with Iqref which ia equal to zero. PSO algorithm is used for mppt and also as an optimization technique for the controller. The simulation of this topology with MATLAB/SIMULINK revealed the system’s ability to provide superior quality three-phase AC output with lower harmonic distortion.
