Wavelet Frames on Generalized Vilenkin Groups

Wavelet systems on the generalized Vilenkin groups and their approximation properties are studied. An algorithmic method for constructing compactly supported tight wavelet frames is given. These results generalize similar studies for the classical Vilenkin groups, and, on the other hand, they are closely related to the recent investigations on the spaces of M-positive vectors.

Abstract

Wavelet systems on the generalized Vilenkin groups and their approximation properties are studied. An algorithmic method for constructing compactly supported tight wavelet frames is given. These results generalize similar studies for the classical Vilenkin groups, and, on the other hand, they are closely related to the recent investigations on the spaces of M-positive vectors.
