Performance Enhancement of PV fed Dynamic Voltage Restorer using UVTG and Hysteresis Voltage Controller
Dynamic voltage Restorer is one of the devices to solve the voltage related power quality issues. Now the recent trends is Photo Voltaic (PV) fed DVR. Research on PV fed DVR in power quality analysis is presented in many papers. In this paper, a PV fed DVR is designed to analyze the voltage related power quality issues such as voltage sag, voltage swell and harmonics in a distribution system. The investigation is mainly focused on the proper implementation of the control algorithm in the proposed DVR and the accurate compensation of voltage in all of the problems, Unit Vector Template Generation (UVTG) Phase Locked Loop (PLL) is suggested in this work to generate the reference signal along with output of Proportional Integral (PI) controller. Hysteresis voltage controller loop is used to generate the switching signal of the voltage source inverter which is the important part of the DVR. PV is used to maintain the DClink voltage as well as maintain the power supply in case of problems in the grid. The work is carried out with MATLAB/SIMULINK platform to verify the effectiveness of the suggested controller
