SPM Propagation Model Calibration Method and Applicability Analysis

Based on an in-depth study of the urban wireless propagation environment, this paper further refines the relevant parameters of the SPM propagation model using the SPM propagation model itself and its correction algorithm. Through field tests in the Lanzhou area, the model is adjusted and improved by incorporating test data from various types of environments (e.g., urban centres, suburban areas, and mountainous regions), and new SPM model parameters applicable to this area are proposed. A comparison between the calibrated model and the measured data shows that the prediction accuracy of the model is significantly improved, with the average error being considerably reduced across different geographical environments, and remaining within an acceptable range, thereby matching well with the local propagation environment. The findings of this study can provide a more accurate theoretical basis and technical support for the coverage assessment of radio monitoring facilities and the rational allocation of frequency resources.
