Research on Reactive Power Optimization for Port Area Grid Considering Charging Load of Electric Ships and Renewable Energy Generation

This paper focuses on the stability and economic operation challenges faced by the port power grid after integrating distributed renewable energy and shore power systems, and conducts research on reactive power distribution optimization. First, analyzing and modelling for the various source load characteristics within the power grid in the port area are carried out. The charging load characteristics of electric ships and the operation strategy of energy storage power stations are provided too. On basis of this foundation, the traditional mayfly optimization algorithm is improved by incorporating chaotic mapping and nonlinear weights, thereby enhancing the algorithm’s global search capability and convergence speed to better tackle complex reactive power optimization problems. Additionally, an optimization model for reactive power allocation in port area grids is established, with its objective function defined. Finally, through case studies, the feasibility and effectiveness of the improved algorithm are verified. The results indicate that the presented method can optimize reactive power at grid nodes, reduce system losses, and improve overall voltage stability.
