Analysis of an Accident Caused by Excitation Inrush Current Leading to Wide-Band Harmonic Monitoring Protection Action
A technical analysis of a misoperation accident of converter station caused by excitation surge current leads to misoperation of broadband harmonic monitoring and protection. Through the collection of measured data at the accident site, the specific process of the excitation surge current triggering misoperation is analyzed, and the reasons for the protection action are given. The working principle and misoperation mechanism of broadband harmonic monitoring and protection were modeled and simulated, and the laboratory reproduction of the accident process was carried out. On this basis, this paper puts forward technical measures and suggestions to prevent the recurrence of similar accidents.
