An Operational Risks Assessment Method for Urban AC/DC Hybrid Distribution Networks Considering Multiple Operation Uncertainties
With the swift advancement of urbanization and the growing incorporation of renewable energy sources (RES), urban power distribution systems (PDN) are evolving towards more complex AC/DC hybrid structures. These networks face multiple operational uncertainties, including fluctuating renewable generation, varying load demands, and random equipment failures, which introduce significant operational risks. This paper proposes a novel method for assessing operational risks in urban AC/DC hybrid distribution networks, considering these multiple uncertainties. The method generates typical uncertainty scenarios, evaluates system performance under these conditions, and quantifies key operational risk metrics such as renewable energy curtailment, voltage deviation, and load shedding risks. A case study using a hybrid AC/DC distribution test system demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method in identifying and quantifying operational risks.
