Methodology Approach to Digital Imagery Conception: The Designer Against the Homogeneity of Digital Media
Abstract This article exposes what remains in the design process as a result of questioning the medium, in which all media have been absorbed by the image. A type of image that has become precisely the product of a re-mediation or intermediality translating all previous media products into digital ones. Consequently, we take the principle of numerical relation or computerized digitalization, which Manuel DeLanda restores from the work of Guattari and Deleuze in his assemblage theory, to show its application in a digital image system composed of layers. This method provides the opportunity to study the process of digital image-making, based on the interconnection of different layers and subimages. We try to understand what remains of the act of designing and the individuality of the designer against homogeneity and digital uniformity of softwares and artificial intelligence.
