Line as an Element of Artistic Model of the World and a Form of Representation of Cultural Concepts

The papers considers the line in a work of art as one of the forms of representation of basic cultural concepts. The artistic model of the world, specific to each individual culture, serves as an intermediary between it and the meanings. The methodology of the cultural study of the conceptual content of the lines of the plastic arts is specified, examples of the work of architects and artists with a straight line as a “line of order” are given.
