Research on the Influence of Street Space Environment on Residents’ Cycling Behavior: A Case Study of Tiantongyuan Community in Beijing
This study takes Tiantongyuan, a high-density community in Beijing, as a case for research, with a focus on residents’ preferences for cycling route selection. The study analyzes the characteristics and patterns of residents’ cycling behavior in different street spaces and explores the influence of street space environment on residents’ cycling behavior. The study employs the trajectory recording APP, GoPro Sports Camera, for collecting street scene images and cycling trajectory data, thus further revealing the patterns of residents’ cycling behavior in different time periods and different street spaces. Moreover, with the support of Geographic Information System (GIS), the cycling trajectory data is visualized to analyze the features of cycling hotspots, routes, and spatial distribution patterns of different groups. This study aims to probe into the association between community street space quality and the promotion of residents’ cycling behavior through empirical research in typical communities, so as to provide a basis for the precise renewal of street spaces from a cycling-friendly perspective.
