Research on the Design Method of Rural Residence from the Perspective of Organic Renewal: Take Liping County Maogong Township as an Example

The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to “comprehensively promote rural revitalization” and emphasized “building a livable, viable, and beautiful countryside.” Traditional houses are an important part of traditional Chinese culture, with a profound historical heritage, and their renewal and protection are of great significance. At present, in the process of renewal and development of traditional dwellings, there are some problems such as mixed environment, poor function, one city in one city, and lack of characteristics. In order to solve the above problems, based on the theory of organic renewal, this paper carried out research on the renewal and renovation design of Dong traditional dwellings in southeast Guizhou and proposed the design principles of systematic, dynamic and gradual, ecological coordination, and regional renewal and renovation. It includes the renovation design strategies based on residential habits and culture, including the renewal of residential space layout, the improvement and renewal of architectural space structure and architectural performance, and the continuation and renewal of regional characteristics of residential buildings, so as to provide new design ideas for the sustainable development of traditional residential buildings.
