The Performance of Different Systems in Resisting Seismic Loading for High Rise Concrete Structures

High-rise buildings are subjected to gravity and mostly lateral loading from seismic and wind loads that affect the behavior of such structures. In this study, we will deal with the seismic behavior of different concrete systems. Moment resisting frame, Shear wall, global bracing and dual system are used in this study. A 3D model in static and dynamic analysis was done using ETABS software then a pushover analysis and a parametric study as well for different systems. The study proved that the case of moment resisting frame is the worst in resisting displacements and drift as well. Although the model case of double side shear wall is the best-resisting system for displacements and drift however it is needed in high seismic zones only. It is advisable to use a moment resisting frame of height 30 floors in low zones although seismic zones 3 and 4 are unsafe for this system. The drift calculated in the global bracing system is adequate in seismic zone 4 and considered permitted by the ASCE 7-10 code. Although this system is considered superfluous in seismic zones (0-3).Using shear walls either externally or externally and internally enhanced the decrease of displacements and drift. instructions give you basic guidelines for preparing papers for conference proceedings.
