Evaluation of Hybrid by Fungicide Timing for Tar Spot Management in Corn in Wanatah, IN, 2024
Tar spot, caused by Phyllachora maydis, can lead to significant losses in corn ( Zea mays) in the United States. This report evaluates five fungicide timings for the management of tar spot on corn (‘W2585VT2P’ and ‘P0589AMXT’). The trial was conducted in 2024 in a research field in Wanatah, IN. Disease severity and yield were collected for each treatment. Results from this study will help inform corn growers in selecting fungicide timing programs to manage this important disease.
