Comparison of Foliar Fungicide Programs for Tar Spot on Corn in Wanatah, Indiana, 2024
Tar spot, caused by Phyllachora maydis, is one of most damaging foliar diseases in Indiana and can cause significant yield loss. This report evaluates fungicide programs and application timing for tar spot management on corn ( Zea mays ‘W2584VT2PRIB’). The trial was conducted in 2024 in a research field in Wanatah, IN. Disease severity, canopy greenness, and yield were collected for each treatment. Results from this study will help inform corn growers to manage tar spot disease in selecting fungicide programs and the best application time.
