Data-Driven Dynamic Equivalent Modeling Methods for Regional Power Grids with Renewable Energy Integration

This paper presents a novel data-driven method for dynamic equivalent modeling of power systems. The network partitioning principles are defined based on generator coherency and electrical distances between nodes, and the boundary buses are identified. Using boundary bus voltages and tie-line power flows as inputs, the transient reactance of equivalent generators in the external area is identified. The active power output of the equivalent generators is optimized to minimize the active power mismatch with the original system tie-lines, using the least squares method to identify the inertia constant and damping coefficient of the equivalent generators, thereby constructing the equivalent system. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a modified IEEE 24-bus test system with renewable energy integration using HYPERSIM. The results validate the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method.
