A Series-Parallel Switching Multi-Pulse Rectifier with Universal Passive Harmonic Suppression Method
A series-parallel switching multi-pulse rectifier with universal passive harmonic suppression method is proposed in this paper. The topologies of the parallel-connection and the series-connection multi-pulse rectifier are analyzed, respectively; the operation modes of the harmonic suppression circuits are also analyzed. Based on the operation modes, the input voltages of the two types of rectifiers are calculated. The optimal turns ratio of the injection transformer is obtained from the viewpoint of minimizing the THD of input voltages. Theoretical analysis shows that the two types of rectifiers have the same optimal injection transformer turns ratio, and only changes three connections, the parallel-connected rectifier is converted to the series-connected rectifier, which provides different power for different high-power loads. Some simulation and experimental are carried out to verify the correctness of theoretical analysis.
