The use of escape room to estimate staffing numbers of nursing professionals: report on the postgraduate teaching experience

ABSTRACT Covid-19 was characterized by the largest interruption in the teaching-learning process in history. To minimize this event, emergency remote teaching became a strategy to seamless resuming classes. In this context, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), combined with active learning methodologies, have gained prominence for remote activities. The aim of this study was to report on the experience of applying an escape room to estimate nursing professionals numbers in the context of postgraduate training. It is an active and participatory teaching-learning methodology, developed using the Google Forms tool, in escape room format, with sub-themes on the dimensioning of nursing staff. The reported strategy proved to be viable for application in different settings of nursing training, pre-graduate, post-graduate, as well as in the labor context of continuing education.
