A Study on Perception of Investors in Digital Gold Market

This study discusses the perception of investors in the digital gold market, their preferences, and their behavior, as well as the factors influencing their investment decisions. Digitalization has transformed gold investment from its traditional physical form into a more accessible, liquid, and convenient avenue for investing in gold through digital gold. This study examines the investment trust and perceived risk associated with digital gold investments and the willingness of investors to move from physical to digital gold based on return expectations. Leveraging data collected through convenience sampling from 75 respondents, it has been revealed that trust creates a significant impact on the perception of risk, while return expectations are not substantially decisive for this move from physical gold to digital gold. Other strengths that digital gold has are its affordability and ease of liquidation, while areas of concern include insufficient regulations and storage charges in certain platforms. It shows that increasing investor confidence, investing in stronger regulations, and enhancing awareness can better popularize this form of gold as an investment vehicle.
