Graphene suspensions in carbon tetrachloride: an excellent nonlinear optical limiting material with a high damage threshold at 1064  nm

We present and validate a novel, to our knowledge, and excellent nonlinear optical limiting (NOL) material-graphene suspension in carbon tetrachloride (<i>C</i><i>C</i><i>l</i>4). We measured the transmittance of the graphene suspension at three concentrations and three solution thicknesses at the wavelength of 1064 nm. Notably, at a concentration of 0.014 mg/mL and a thickness of 10 mm, the suspension exhibited the best limiting effect, with a high optical limiting coefficient of 0.48 and a high damage threshold of (8.43±0.63)<i>J</i>/<i>c</i><i>m</i>2. These experimental results indicate that the graphene suspensions in <i>C</i><i>C</i><i>l</i>4 exhibit an excellent NOL effect and a high damage threshold at a wavelength of 1064 nm.

These experimental results indicate that the graphene suspensions in <i>C</i><i>C</i><i>l</i>4 exhibit an excellent NOL effect and a high damage threshold at a wavelength of 1064 nm.
